Unlike most young girls who try to accentuate their feminine qualities, Futaba Yoshioka deliberately behaves in a way that would repel those who are attracted to her. She was ostracized by her female classmates during middle school because of her popularity with boys, and in high school, she strives to avoid a similar situation by being unnecessarily loud and awkward. Amidst her unpleasant memories, Futaba cherishes the moments she spent with her former crush, Kou Tanaka. Unfortunately, their closeness ended abruptly when Kou suddenly disappeared from school, leaving Futaba with a bitter taste in her mouth. So when she learns that Kou has returned, albeit with a different last name, she feels butterflies in her stomach. However, Kou Mabuchi is no longer the warm boy she once knew; he has transformed into a taller, more charismatic, and withdrawn person, making him less approachable. Futaba believes that if she tries to revert to her former self, Kou will notice her again. But is she willing to sacrifice her normalcy and risk losing her friends in the process?
