Description:

Humanity faces extinction in the distant future due to the threat of monstrous creatures called Klaxosaurs. The surviving humans have taken refuge in towering fortress cities known as Plantations, where children are trained to pilot FranXX mechas alongside their male-female partners. These machines are the only means of combatting the Klaxosaurs, and the children’s sole purpose in life is to pilot them and defend their race. Hiro, an ambitious pilot, loses his confidence after failing an aptitude test. Disheartened, he skips his graduation ceremony and takes to a peaceful forest lake, where he meets a peculiar girl with two horns sprouting from her head. She calls herself Zero Two, the notorious “Partner Killer” FranXX pilot. Suddenly, the Plantation is attacked by a Klaxosaur. Zero Two faces it in battle and survives a crash that results in the death of her partner. Inviting Hiro to take his place, they combine their robotic weapons to defeat the enemy. With a new lease on life and a powerful ally at his side, Hiro seeks redemption for his past failures. But is he prepared to face the consequences of his partnership with Zero Two?
