Description:
A century ago, a ferocious war took place between humanity and beastkind. After its conclusion, it was proposed to have an annual tradition where a young woman sacrifice would be selected from the humans to be consumed by the King of Beasts. This custom still persists to this day, with the latest sacrifice being 15-year-old Sariphi, the 99th victim, taken from her village and transported to the kingdom of Ozmargo, a pestilent land where humans are forbidden. However, Sariphi is unlike the previous candidates. Her positivity and bravery in the face of the beasts and her inescapable fate impress the King, who is usually intimidating. As he becomes more intrigued by the sacrificial princess and her backstory, the King allows her to explore the kingdom without restrictions, causing potential controversy. Unbeknownst to Sariphi and the King, their brief time together has started a chain of events that will alter the future of Ozmargo in unimaginable ways.
