Description:
The anime Shion no Ou traces the journey of Yasuoka Shion, a 13-year-old Shougi player with a traumatic history. When Shion was merely 5 years old, her parents were murdered in front of her. The perpetrator challenged her to a game of Shougi and threatened her to stay alive by forgetting her voice and the events of that fateful night. Despite remaining mute, Shion has proven to be a skilled player and has become a female pro Kishi. As her fame grows, so does interest in her past and the horrific murder she witnessed. Shion's memory gradually resurfaces, and the puzzle of her past gradually pieces together.
