Denji had his teenage years snatched away from him, and all he's left with is the immense debt left behind by his useless father. His only companion is his pet, Pochita, the chainsaw devil, with whom he takes down devils for profit that ultimately ends up in the hands of the dreaded yakuza. Denji only desires a simple life - one with delicious food and a gorgeous girlfriend. Sadly, his dreams are crushed under the weight of the yakuza's treachery, resulting in his brutal and premature demise, extinguishing any possibility of him ever finding true happiness. However, thanks to an old contract, Pochita is able to merge with Denji's deceased body, bestowing him with devil powers that transform his body parts into lethal chainsaws. Due to the grave risk Denji's newfound abilities pose to society, the Public Safety Bureau's elite devil hunter, Makima, takes him in and permits him to live only under her command. Driven by his desire to live a fulfilling life with a beautiful woman, Denji fights with all his might to make his simple dreams come true, defying all odds in the process.
