Description:

Living with his family in a small Swiss village, Romeo possesses both kindness and bravery. However, his life changes drastically when a notorious man named Luini, also known as "The God of Death," takes an interest in him. Luini is infamous for purchasing children and forcing them to work as chimney sweeps in Milan. He burns down Romeo's family's cornfield to pursue his motives. Romeo's father is injured while trying to extinguish the flames, and they must see a doctor but lack the necessary funds. Therefore, Romeo selflessly sells himself to Luini. While en route to Milan, Romeo befriends another boy named Alfredo Martini. However, they are separated when Alfredo is sold to a different master. Despite this, they make an eternal promise to reunite. Romeo suffers immense abuse and challenges as a chimney sweep, particularly at the hands of his master's family and a group known as the Wolf Pack. However, after eventually crossing paths with Alfredo again, they establish "The Black Brothers" - a union of chimney sweeps who band together to oppose the Wolf Pack and offer mutual aid.
